TL;DR: Go to allkeyshop.com and buy a perpetual Microsoft Office licence for around $1.

Recently I graduated, so I no longer have access to Microsoft Office through my university. I find Excel to be far superior to LibreOffice or OpenOffice, and documents from work or other places are often provided in Word format where open source alternatives tend to mess up the formatting. So I needed Office.

I hate subscriptions like everyone else, and I was not about to pay $10 a month for it. I also did not want to download a pirated version as those are often bundled with malware.

The solution was to buy a perpetual licence, meaning one that never expires, for $1. Microsoft sells volume licences to businesses in bulk at a steep discount. Surplus or unused keys from these bulk purchases end up being resold by third party sellers, completely legally, at a fraction of the retail price. You get a genuine key that activates a legitimate copy of Office.

I first tried plati.market and g2a.com, but the cheapest I found there was around $20. I then checked allkeyshop.com, which had one for $1. Make sure to get a key that covers your region or is listed as global.
